I am so glad - in a perverted sort of way - to realise that so many other people get really down and sad at New Year. I thought it was only me !! I hate New Year as I feel so depressed and sad. Can't say why - perhaps it is the passing of the years and the realisation of your own mortality. I just don't know. Anyway, I just go to bed at the normal time - don't ever wait for 12 oclock - and lo and behold I am as right as rain come 1st Jan !! Weird isn't it ? Hope you all have a happy, healthy 2010.

That is very positive Pam! And wishing all of you who felt lonely last night a brighter, happier year. As for me, I have always treated New Years Eve like any other evening. It is today that matters:-)

Big Hug for everyone:-)

Hi Kemp hope you had a good night, like Alice its what I have left behind and all the sad bits of that year and when they start singing knees turn to jelly, but I do have some good things to look forward to this year.

My eldest son gets married in October
My grandson who has been very stupid in his life returns to us his family in July and we are hoping and praying he has learned his lesson ( really really think he has)
Looks like my youngest son has met his life partner and she is a sweetie and he may leave home YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

And I hope and pray for a miracle that will let my sister have loads more years with us

Hi all, I was with o.h. but had to wake him up out of his recliner to say it was almost 2010, he got a drink but didn't touch it, moaned about the tv progs and then went upstairs to bed without a word, so I know how some of you, Gwen especially, felt. I couldn't even come on the computer till he went upstairs.
N.Y. Eve has been a let down for me for many a year and gets me weepy, it would be lovely to be all together with similar minded people or just friendly folk but no one gets together round this close, two new people in two bungalows, a young lad on his own in another house so he is probably out, and various other folk doing whatever they do, no sound nothing, not like the old days when neighbours would come out and wish each other health and happiness.

Best wishes for 2010 for us all

love
Lizxx
