How lovely (not) to wake up to 31C with a forecast of 42C for the day. Catastrophic fire warnings in 10 of our 15 fire districts. Victoria is also on catastrophic warnings as well.

Feel guilty about filling the salt shaker!! You lot need the stuff more than what we do. Although I must admit the pictures of snow covered England do represent our idea of what the mother country should look like. Go chuck a snowball for us!!

It seems there was a load of salt destined for Germany that has been sent to England instead, just as well as more snow forecast later in the week I think. At the mo, it's been a bit milder and raining most of the day so the back garden is almost clear and the road at the front (we are in a culdesac) is icy and puddled where the ice is melting, just hope it melts away completely before it freezes again.
I did say to o.h. that if several of them got together with shovels and stiff brooms they could have cleared the road today, it's only about 50 yards and with all the menfolk and lads here, who outnumber the women by 12 to 10, it would have only taken a short time. Shame none of them are that public spirited and mostly use cars so don't think of those who walk!
