I come from a land where myth and legend collide , where dark omens circle balsam skies and mountains rise from the sea like a Kraken waiting to entrap unsuspecting mariners ,where magic prevails and dark horsemen seek revenge on honest folk and madmen howl at the moon
ok then Northampton

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!) Report 14 Jan 2010 22:08

I come from a place of endless day and light, where wraiths patrol the streets of gold and neon is everywhere. Where the dark mare of night leaves a bad feeling in your head each morning and the hawkers chase away the sun. No star gazers dwell there and the only birds are sparrows and seagulls and a few pigeons.
Or London.

(But now I'm in Kent and don't start me on that!)

Dear All

Hello

My ancestors came from Wiltshire, then travelled across South England and got lost. No compass!

Eventually, some went to London, Essex and other places.

Oh and I have a strong gypsy bloodline.

Take care all
Very best wishes
xx

Dunno where I came from - well I do - born in Sussex, but whisked off to Wales ASAP. First memories are of Malta.
I worked out I'd moved at least 28 times in my life - I've lived where I am now for 27 odd years - and I'm only just over my half century!
I suppose the song 'Wherever I lay my hat' is my song!

However - I live in (apparently ) one of the wealthiest cities.
Many homeless.
Many alcoholics.
Far too much drug addiction
Many old buildings
Many ignored - I (and others) Ignore 'Hooray Henry's' - they may ignore the homeless - but the homeless are quite grateful!!

Very many nice people
A society - say 'hello' and you will get a response - even from the homeless and those who need drugs to survive
The best pub in the world - that I don't visit enough
A place, after many years roaming, that I can call 'mine'.

Well where I come our North Island was fished out of the sea by Maui.

We have many myths legends - our Lake Wakatipu where Queenstown is is the shape of a giant and the level of the water rises and falls each day and this is the giant's heartbeat.

Then we have our four mountains - Tongariro, Ruapehu, Ngaruahoe and Taranaki - and they fought and Taranaki got kicked out to the West Cape and in its place is Lake Taupo - the base of Taranaki and the Lake are practically the same shape.

"Where jobless women with multi-coloured children live on crapburgers and chips."

I'm not a member of the PC Brigade but that's offensive, Annina. However I'm not reporting it because you are entitled to an opinion.

Running Bear Report 15 Jan 2010 09:29

all together.
Take a pinch of white man
Wrap it up in black skin
Add a touch of blue blood
And a little bitty-bit of red indian boy

Mm, curly latin kinkies
Mixed with yellow Chinkees
If you lump it all together
Well, you've got a recipe for a get-along scene
Oh, what a beautiful dream
If it could only come true
You know, you know

What we need is a great big melting pot
Big enough to take the world and all it's got
Keep it stirring for a hundred years or more
And turn out coffee-coloured people by the score
Yeah, Lord

We are all the same- the genetic differences between all the different "Races" are minute.
