I was always under the impression that certificates obtained from the GRO were a great deal more expensive that from a register office. |

If you have the GRO ref the cost is £7 from the GRO the same as local register offices the GRO ref isnt any good though at the local Offices and as you have found for marriages you need lots more info ie church etc. |

I found that the GRO want almost every piece of information, including the ref. numbers, for a birth certificate! |

Isnt the GRO price £10 without the reference numbers?and they search a year either side of the target year?(£3 for the search) |
