If I'm cross it'll either be a good scrub of the house or a spot of baking.

If I'm losing my rag, and believe me it takes a hell of a lot to make me do that, then someone better get my CD of Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' and get it on quick. It's the only thing that will stop me, and the effect is instant. Other than that, nothing will make me stop until I've had my say and thrown something, kicked something, slammed a door or two and shut myself away. Once I start cleaning its a sure sign I'm calming down LOL.

My son STILL runs when I give him one of my looks! My nephew is a bit nervous if I give him a look. And once, in the office years ago, I gave the look to my boss and he recoiled and said "Oh, you made me feel about this small!"

I can't give myself "the look" in the mirror because I start laughing so I have no idea what it looks like - but it obviously works!

i used to slam a door, i don't know why but it used to help,...until one day the door didn't bang...just sprang back....so i kicked it and put my foot through the bottom panel :-( I haven't done it since.

Now i either give in to the rant or go for a walk with the dog, who is quite happy to trot along while i steam in silence :-)

I very, very rarely 'lose it' but in the past I have been known to wash a few clothes by hand in a sink.
Really bashing and wringing the clothes is quite calming and then at the end you just pull out the plug and let all those horrible thoughts go down the drain with the water.

I think it is very healthy to explode occasionally. It let's people know that they have stepped over some boundary or other. I don't do it very often but when I do I do it magnificently! lol

I have a Damn It Doll. It hangs on the noticeboard in my office. It is just an old rag doll with this poem pinned to its chest.

When you want to kick the desk or throw the phone and shout,
Here's a little dammit doll you cannot do without,
Just grasp it firmly by the legs, and find a place to slam it,
And as you whack it's stuffing out, yell,
dammit, dammit, dammit!
