We have a gas card meter and during the really cold snap I put on £50 in 14 days because it was that cold, I also have a gas cooker so some of the usage was for cooking as well.

Annina, I look at it like this. We don't have holidays, because of the allotment, we do not go out drinking, though we sometimes have one in, we never seem to go out for meals these days, because of me bowel probs.,we have no expensive hobbies or interest, unless you count GR.and I make all my own knitteds. I also make loads od food to go in the freezer, (to use with the veggies off the allotment), and I always take advantage of any offers at M*****sons. When you get older, you need your heat.

PS. I am fully appreciative that other peoples circumstances alter cases

Our was on 24/7 for about 4 weeks. so no doubt we will have a whopping big bill too.
The pipes would have frozen if it hadnt been on.
Our slabs out the back looked like ther had been an earthquake due to frost.

Postie has just put me Gas bill through the door. It is dated 16th Jan, and was for £262.42. I am sure the next one will be equally as big, but I'm not sitting cold for anything.
