People who own a cat are more likely to have a university degree than those with a pet dog, a study by Bristol University suggests. |

Well, as I am owned by three cats I would love to agree, but really think it is a load of bunkum. |

I heard part of a comment about this on TV, where they were suggesting that University degree folk may be in jobs that doesn't give them so much time to properly care for a dog, whereas as long as it is fed and has a good home, a cat doesn't mind being alone sometimes, so commuters etc. would more likely own a cat than a dog. |

University is not just about owning cats. There's the drinking and fornicating aspect to consider. |

The reason given for the finding was that people either at uni or with a degree and working were never at home so found it easier to keep a cat as tehy are self sufficient. |
