It was Edward that passed away earlier, his father Eddie is still alive and kicking. And to confuse people even more there is an Ed, son of William

Some wagons are registered abroad but they mainly stay in Europe, only coming over here occassionally.

To have your name on a wagon you apply for it, waiting list of about 3 years, I believe but not 100% sure but proirity is given to club members.
My husband asked for mine name and it was put on eventually but I never saw it once! I did get a photo and a lovely teddy bear, in uniform, and the name and registration number embroidered on :-D

My Mum enjoys nothing better than spot the Eddie Stobart lorry when she is travelling in a car or a coach.

I live a separate life to my husband but we both travel together to see our daughter on a regular basis (cheaper on the petrol- and him being a tight Yorkshire man-)As we travel down the motorways my husband, who is a man of few words will all of a sudden shout out a couple of female names which tells me that I have just missed another Stobarts lorry.....at least it breaks the four hour journey- lol-jl

Patricia

Patricia Report 11 Jul 2011 10:06

It was all my Mum's fault!!!

From the age of 3 weeks I began to travel up/down the A1 from London to Yorkshire, Lancashire and Durham to visit relatives. In those days lorries had phone no's that gave the town instead of codes [that dates me!!] so once I could read I had to find the lorry furthest away from home. And we did the usual I-Spy etc.

It seems to make travelling go quicker, although where my oh is concerned it has snowballed!!! We go to the Truckfests and have now met Alex off of IRT, and later this year Lisa from the same show is supposed to be at the one we're going to, much to my oh's pleasure :-D

And much to OH's delight we now live a stones throw from the A1 in the Midlands!
