Hiya Mersey how are you feeling this morning did you have a good time yesterday hope your Mum and Nan are doing OK enjoy what you will be getting up to and have a nice day

We have a dry but breezy start to the day in my corner of Kent and the forecast is for it to stay dry this morning with some bright spells now and then but the clouds will increase by midday bringing rain which will be quite heavy at times along with very strong winds despite this it will feel mild with temperature of about 57°F today

So wherever you are and whatever you will be doing today stay dry take care enjoy yourself and don't forget to smile and make someone's day

And remember that life is like a candle most burn brightly and slowly melt away for others a sudden gust of wind can snuff them out as recent events in Paris have shown so please take care and be vigilant as the festive season approaches and make sure that the best of all presents you have around your Christmas tree are your loved ones and friends all wrapped up in each other

Cold here - just put my nose out of the door for a few minutes and decided to put the kettle on again instead of venturing out.

Mersey - here's the question I wanted to ask you yesterday or the day before.

I was watching the tape I made of the Beatles thing and the song, 'Thank you very much for the ....' came on. Once, in one publication, someone said they thought it was Aintree iron, but I always took it to mean 'entry iron' - mainly because it sounds more like entry and we always used to call the lane at the back of the street I lived in the back entry (when we came in through the backyard). When I was quite young, the rag-and-bone-and-iron man used to come along the entry shouting 'Entry iron' to let the residents know he was there if they wanted to give/sell him anything. Hence me thinking entry iron
