We don't have appointments any more. The jabs are on set dates, with every employee allowed to give them on hand, and we just turn up. Last year we met several people we hadn't seen for ages, and the waiting time passed very quickly - all good fun!!

When I saw the doctor recently, she said they had been discussing whether to get in twice as many doses as usual, in case they ran out and couldn't get any more, as a result of Brexit.

We are like you and your OH, Belle. OH gets a call early for his jab.

I have only ever had two, the first in a December several years ago when they gave me an Aussie jab that our local (English) surgery had just got in - OH and earlier recipients were given a different jab.

I was well all through that winter so went back for the following year's jab and had a permanent cold throughout that winter - so I have never been back for any more.

Respectful concern for those unfortunates who dislike needles with great intensity.

AnninGlos Report 27 Sep 2019 16:54

Ours is tomorrow at the surgery, we get times according to initials of surnames but can go other times if it suits as better. Ours is between 11.30 and 12.30.

'Emma' Report 27 Sep 2019 18:31

Same times for us Ann.

No problem there for me Dermot, needles do not
bother me probably because I've had so many over the years.

At least you can look away if your imagination is in overdrive Dermot!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 28 Sep 2019 14:50

Had ours, There was a long queue when we arrived at our given time but I think a lot of people had to gear their visit to the times of the buses as there was a sudden influx of people. It was really well managed though by the nurses giving the injections and the ones marshalling people. Very impressive.
