I read that somewhere as well, but it's hard to see how it would work out if they never take Archie back to the UK ............... he hasn't been there since they left last November.

It was somewhere around the time they were talking about leaving, and something about her being able to prevent Archie being taken out of the UK.

She could hardly start a court case to get him back ........ nor could Prince Charles when he succeeds, even though that would then be 1 generation closer to the throne.

Think of the optics of that ......... Meghan and the US press would have a field day.

The Queen has only seen him once I believe, and that was just a matter of days after he was born.

I pay tax in Canada and England .Why should I pay for the security of Marmite and her thumbpress when they have abandoned their country and Queen?
Trump is still president. Why should USA , Canada or even GB have to pay.
As it is I think it will be sometime before I return to Canada but I will still have to pay my taxes.

I'm on a site that has a lot of expats and it's things like this that I see Britons really considering when they are considering emigrating to Canada, Australia, NZ and especially the US

Considerng BEFORE they make the move in the vast majority of cases ............. it's young 'uns without families that are "fancy-free" who usually move without considering the future!

He said he greatly respects the Queen but he will not agree to pay for their security.

The real reason they have moved is

They didn't want to pay tax in two countries

IT seems she didn't like the UK because the press wasn't nice to her if we believe half of what is written about them....umm....when have the press ever been nice!! She didn't know that might happen where has she been all her life.

rumour has it .......

......... that Meghan and Harry left Canada because Canada refused to pay for their security any longer

......... that they moved because they were told that they would have to pay taxes in 2 countries if they stayed here and worked in the US

......... that they were told it would not be easy for them to get visas to stay and work in Canada


so ................

............. they move to a place where they will pay for their own armed security guards 24 hours a day at great price

............. they move to the US state that has the highest tax rate in the whole US

........... they move to where it will be difficult for Harry to get his Green card to enable to work, and where if he does decide to become a US citizen he will have to renounce ALL titles he had in any other country. Meghan has to do all the paperwork to get him the Green Card.
