Unusual for Fly to have sun, while we have rain in the south.

Been for Covid jab today. Yesterday's flu one seems OK too

Can't say that much in the way of that happens around here lately, but I'm quite content with my lot though.
Went to a quiz with elder daughter yesterday evening. Hard enough questions to make us think, but not so difficult that we couldn't answer many.
Gives the brain cells a workout !
Pleasant company, so I felt back in touch with the world again, after being in most of the week getting rid of my cold.

Sorry to hear you had a cold, Gwyn, but good that you’ve got rid of it.

We, as a family (apart from OH) like quizzes, Gwyn. Some of us (though not me) are particularly competitive and sometimes it gets really lively.

I do like a quiz too. We watch Only Connect, which is off the wall to say the least.

We went on holiday a few years ago, and decided to enter a Pub Quiz. We were on our own, and another team, local, had 6 members.

As the Quiz progressed, we could see one member holding his phone under the table, obviously googling the answers!

Needless to say, this team won every week.

One word, CHEATING.

Von, pleased you enjoyed yourself. If I were young I’d ask what too much partying is but as you know only too well …..

With cousins and friends on our table making up a team we used to go to a dinner dance which also included a Xmas quiz and one year we were pipped at the post by some young people who were cheating like that, Maddie. Grrrr

On another occasion, OH and I joined up with a Lancs couple on holiday about twenty years ago to do a general quiz. It got to a stand-off where, from our group, I was elected to compete with a woman from another group. We won and the bottle of champagne went down nicely.

My claim to fame is that I won a lunch-time telly quiz when our work union group visited TV studios. I was the youngest and, as the quiz was about pop music, I was pushed forward when our group was asked to provide a contestant. I won … but none of us was quick enough on the last question so someone mimed the answer in front of us (out of camera shot) and I answered first. Great pressie - lots of record tokens which all in our group (much older than me) insisted I keep. I bought my first Beatles LP and lots of other records.

Gawd, that’s taken me back almost sixty or so years but such a happy memory.
