Morning all. <3 :-D

Wednesday’s child is full of woe :-0 :-(

Coffee with pals then covid jab this morning. Can’t miss it because the original date got cancelled.

I know a couple of people who are not bothering with the covid jab this time. I wonder what you all think?

Enjoy your day, everyone. :-D <3

Morning Joy :-) <3 Morning everyone :-) <3

It's been raining through the night but now the sun is up and we have blue skies - although I don't know what the temperature is outside.

Hope your jab goes o.k. Joy. I had mine a couple of weeks ago along with the flu jab. I go tomorrow for the RSV jab which I haven't had before. Our nurse at the surgery would like me to have every vaccination going and regularly tries to persuade me to have something new. She caught me off-guard and got me to say yes to this one :-0

I've heard of a few people round here who have got covid at the moment so I really think people need to keep getting the jab when they are offered it.

Have a good day.

Morning Kath. <3 :-D

It’s bright enough here but cool.

One of my pals has Covid - was discharged from hospital when it got into the ward and a day or two later she was diagnosed with it. She is cheesed off as her health is not the best either, :-(

I am having mine at our nearby chemist which is where I got the flu jab last week. I ended up at the chemist because when I fronted up at the docs for my flu jab, some bright spark had cancelled both covid and flu jabs so I popped into our chemist on spec. Nearer and more congenial staff than in the docs.

Never been offered the RSV jab, Kath - that’s the respiratory virus isn’t it?

Morning Joy and Kath :-D :-D

It's dull here, the 8/8 grey duvet in the sky is pinning us down.
Hard to believe there was a time I used to go out in this every week day :-0
The things we did for dosh :-0 madness!

I had my flu jab yesterday, no covid.
:-D

Gwyn in Kent Report 29 Oct 2025 08:59

Good morning Joy,Kath and Island :-) <3

I too have had a recent Covid jab and also a flu one.
They were a week apart, both at our GP surgery, which is annually used as a vaccine hub for our local area.
Just localised slight discomfort from the flu jab, but no other after effects from either.

Since May, when I caught pneumonia 'out of the blue', I have had numerous tests and scans from various departments at the hospital and I specifically asked consultants whether I should have the jabs again and the answer was a firm Yes.
Thankfully, I have recovered and am back to my regular volunteering at our local primary school. The children sit quite close to me, so that I can hear them read, so I need to be protected against any infections that are lurking.

A gloomy dull day here with plenty of rain forecast, so definitely an 'in' day for me, as I don't need to go out.

Hope today is good for you all <3

Morning Island and Gwyn. :-D <3 :-D <3

Funny innit, Gwyn. I, too, had pneumonia in May which is not a month I associate with such a thing. This was about 45+ years ago but from memory I think the doc said it’s a virus one can catch any time.

About to go so I’ll catch you all later. <3

PS. I have put the washer on so I hope it stays breezy and DRY. :-|

I had pneumonia some 27 years ago, my immune system went into overdrive fighting it, it was later named 'rheumatoid arthritis'. I'm ok, some people suffer terribly.

Morning Gwyn :-D :-D

Morning Joy, Kath, Island, Gwyn & Fly <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

It's started raining here :-(. Fortunately, it only started on the way home after collecting my Click :-0

I think the Covid Jab is only being offered to those who have suppressed immune systems or are over 75 :-). I would have one if offered because you feel quite helpless if you fall ill when you are living on your own :-0

Afternoon everyone :-) <3

Still bright and sunny here although quite cool.

Just had a phone call from the doctors to say they have to cancel my appointment for my RVS jab tomorrow - the nurse is sick :-0

Have to have it next Wednesday now.

Belle - I wouldn't wait to be asked, You could ask the doctor if you can have one. Like you say, it's not good to be feeling poorly when you live alone.

Enjoy the rest of the day. I am just reading and putting off housework ;-)

Belle, I'm "immunosuppressed" due to RA but in my 27 year 'career' I have never caught anything off anyone.
I was fed so much alarmist carp during covid lockdowns to the point of not daring to put my nose out of the door or touch anything outside of our home, not just for myself but the fear of catching and passing anything on to my ill partner - who finally succumbed to sepsis in hospital :-|
I've had my flu jab but refuse to get sucked in to having further jabs.

My parents lived to 89/92 without so much as an antibiotic. They rarely saw their gp - perhaps that's the answer to where these nasties breed and wait for 'customers'?

Hi Everyone :-D :-D <3

It was raining here this morning, but I'd put the washing on the timer to start early this morning. I'm glad I did though, cos it cleared up mid-morning and it mostly dried on the line.

Entering the Covid jab conversation....
I had the flu jab last Friday. No side effects as usual for me.
My first 2 Covid jabs were AZ. No problems except feeling a bit cold and tired
Then I got the Pfizer!!!!! Absolutely frozen and violently vomiting for 24 hours!
I said "no more" ... but I succumbed and had it again, and again!

But now I have a bad hiatus hernia, and the thought of going through all that vomiting :-0 So I haven't had it this year or last year. But when I hear of Covid around I panic a bit about it! :-D
Having said that, we did have Covid the year before last. Very mild,. But was that because we had had the vaccines? Because we were deliberately keeping away from people? Or would it have been mild anyway?????

I've been working all day on my DNA matches. I work them down from suggested Common Ancestors. I'm logging out now as my eyes have gone all googly:-D

Have a good evening Everyone <3
