Doing your family research do you feel more drawn or connected to one side than the other? If so is it because you know more about one side?

Yes, my fathers side. As you said I had a head start knowing so much about them. AND YET? they are causing me the most problems. Deanna X

My husband side, his parents sadly both died at a young age and he gets so excited when I find out anything interesting about either of his parent's family.

It's strange how some parts of the tree seem to feel more personal than others when there may be people just as closely related. When I did a big fan chart a couple of years ago (copied the GR one onto A3 sized paper and added a few more generations outwards) I realised that there were gaps I'd not really thought about much. I've tried to even things out but my mother's side always seemed closer because I actually knew more of them in person. Then I discovered that it was my father's tree that gave me my medieval link so I've ended up with a huge tree sprouting from that one branch. Sue
