my hubby calls me shar, which is ok as he`s welsh so it sounds ok, but when neighbours etc say it it sounds crap cos we are geordies and live in geordie land, but hubby still has his welsh accent.. sharon |

I hate it when people add an extra i to my name, calling me Hiuia (hee-oo-ee-ah) not Huia (hoo-ee-ah). Hub used to annoy me a lot calling me tub. I wasnt all that fat then. He doesnt call me that so much now, even though I am even fatter! He also refers to me as 'the old crow' because the Huia was a member of the wattled crow family. I dont really mind. In fact if I wanted a name for our house I would call it The Crow's Nest, it looks down on farmland to the west and across a gully full of native trees to a tree covered ridge to the north, so it is rather like a crows nest on a ship. |
