My mum has probably been the biggest influence, and there are many times I wish she was still here to advise me Ann x

My happy, loving Dad who died 4 years ago and my lovely giggly Mum who, sadly has alzheimers and doesn't recognise me any more. I miss them both very much.

My mother without a doubt. She was the most independant woman I ever knew. Born 1929 but well before her time. She was totally independant all throughout her life, she was a well known figure in my community for being there for people and fighting for the poor pensioners rights down the street.,If anything that concerned anyone she was there to back them up. She taught me to be independant and not reliable on anyone-she was strict but kind and I miss her every day since the 10yrs she left me. On the day of her funeral all the local Tameside Councillors stood lining the road in respect of her I sat in the funeral car watching them with their heads bowed, and I knew what a fanstatic woman my mother was. catherine xx

oh kitty love that must feel awful and frustrating sometimes my mum died of a brain haemorrage 2 days after I had my eldest she went into a coma never came round, then died. she always said if she was gonna end up a vegateble which they said she would be then she wanted an end. I was named after my Aunty Kitty.love to you catherine xx xx

Definitely my Nan Joyce...without the question of a doubt. She was such a wonderful lady, so inspiring, caring, loving, took me on days out, never shouted at me...just such a wonderful lady, I love her more than anyone...(apart from my boys and hubby of course!!!)

I know why Ann Love, hugs to you, Star, My grandma was quite hard but softened in her 90s lol and my cuddly nanna, whose birthday I was born on was developing alztheimers when i was small, Bet you had lovely times with your nan, Caz xxx

I think mostly my Gran (my Mum's Mum) - she was lovely and honest and caring, but never took any nonsense and had the strength to fight for what she needed to. It appears I have inherited that strength of mind thankfully. My Mum also has been a huge influence on my life - she is an absolute angel and has been a Tower of Strength to me when I've needed her - I'm not sure I'd be here today without her. Kaye x

Thanks Catherine and Caz I am feeling pretty low at the moment, but looking at life from Mum's point of view, she is happy most of the time and has never known the pain of losing Dad, they were married for 54 years. I have a lovely husband and 4 beautiful daughters, so feel blessed. Oh well off to work now, thanks again.

My sister's daughter Olivia died, as a child, to cancer. This was 7 years ago and has been a time in our lives that we talk about in 'before' and 'after' terms. I can truly say that the trauma and shock of my sister losing her daughter has made me a different person. I am more tolerant as not much seems to be as big a deal anymore. Issues that probably would have bothered me, now seem trivial. I treasure my own kids in a way that leaves no room for taking them for granted, as I had previously. Olivia has taught us so much in the short time we had her. Sue xx
