I am lucky, my dad is 93 and I am asking questions by the dozen, and he is really enjoying reminiscing, he has told me some fabulous stories Ann x

Some of my ancestors might have trouble understanding me. And I might not understand them. Some from Yorkshire, Liverpool, Staffs., Glos., Essex, London. All probably different accents and different words for things. I dont think I have a typical Kiwi accent. I sound awful posh on tape. Was quite shocked when I first heard myself.

I have a few photos of my dads half sister, long story he and his siblings were told as kids she was their auntie. She is long dead unfortunately. When my uncle showed them to us everyone just looked at the photo then at me and sat there with there gobs open. Creeped me out, looks like me but in the 40's. When my 7 year old saw it he said, '' Why are you in black and white in that photo''!

Hoff, I wasnt saying there was anything wrong with Liverpool. Just that I might have trouble understanding the dialect/accent of my ancestors from there. I am sure it is a lovely place, I would love to visit it some time.
