Have you ever thought about what songs/tunes you would like at your funeral? Somewhere Over The Rainbow is a big favourite of mine as is Imagine. Fi x |

My daughters asked about 14 years ago if they could choose a song for my funeral............. They decided on (and I'm going to have it).................................. Ding Dong the Witch is Dead!!!!! lol It was my beloved BIL's funeral 3 weeks ago, and as he had a long protracted illness - mysotheliamia (sp) - basically terminal asbestosis, he and my sister arranged his funeral. He had 3 songs, the 2 that stick in my mind are 'On the Road Again', which had been a favourite of his since it first came out, and had us all in tears, and 'What a Day for a Daydream'. Have to admit it was an amazing occasion - no 'outsiders' speaking about him, only friends, and he was buried in a woodland burial ground. We will be planting a tree over him in June, on his birthday. maggie maggie |

How sad is this? This is what I want.. An American Trilogy..Elvis and Angels..Robbie Williams. Plus a happy, daft one of my family's choice lol When my Mum died,18yr ago I wanted 'Danny boy' played ,as she alway's sang it. My Aunt said 'oh no Marion don't have that song,as you will alway's be sad every time you hear it' DOH!! I could kick myself for not doing what I wanted. Marion |

My twin brother had 'Thank you for loving me' by Bon Jovi. My mum and dad had 'True love' by Bing Crosby from the film High Society as that was their song that they had when they got engaged. |

I am more traditional Fi, and choose the music that has been a part of my life.... Handel's Largo.......played at my parents' wedding, our wedding and my Mum's funeral Jerusalem.....played at my wedding I vow to thee my country......a favourite of mine and, perhaps, not sure about this one yet....Time to Say Goodbye......played at Dad's funeral last year.......still too emotional about this song at the moment..... |

We had Elton John's 'Circle of Life' from the Lion King during the service for our son. The words are so moving and reminded us of several very happy holidays in Florida. |

hi there we had lovely songs at my parents funerals. For my beloved dad he had Its a kind of magic by Queen and then Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy. And my beloved mother chose her own Who wants to live forever by Queen and then I am what i am by Shirley Bassey. Both wanted it to be celebrations of their lives and not a time for mourning Lynda |
