Sorry zzz is not PC, I have been told. I should have said thread is being nudged for the benefit of others who are actually interested in knowing more about Broadband connections. I apologise profusely If I have failed to follow the correct protocol. |

Well things are a lot better this morning. It didn't take 2 mins to log in, unlike last night. Elizabeth. I know! As soon as we hit the drop zone though, I thought it would happen.I do think we'll be back in the Championship though, all we need is a year out to sort thiongs out, and we'll be back fighting! 3 years and we'll be top of the Premiership again! lol. Have you heard about Duncan Revie wanting to purchase the club now. If he's like his father, then this could be a great thing for the club. Fingers crossed. Had to laugh though at Peter Ridsdale's column in YEP, just after we were relegated, saying that this wouldn't have happened if he'd still been in charge! It was him that started it! Talk about dillusional!!!! Silly man! Rant over now, lol! Gem:)))) |

Honestly, it is free! When you acquire or purchase a modem you are entitled to driver upgrades - drivers are the little bits of software that run hardware such as modems, printers etc. Manufacturers often upgrade the drivers because they find bugs in the existing software so it is in their best interests to provide this service free so that everyone has equipment that is running correctly. If you can tell me the model etc I can give you the link to download the most up to date driver for your modem. That at least will be a starting point for you. |

For starters I would upgrade your modem drivers to see if that makes a difference. |

Jude, that sounds like a problem localised to your computer and/or network rather than an actual BT connection problem. |

It is a lot better than many, Maureen, and if you persevere or use a different number (bit difficult to find at first) it is quite easy to get through to a UK based technical department. However, the times you will need to use the technical department or helpdesk should be few and far between. The problem occurs when it is the PERSONALISED services rather than the general connection. After all, most ISPs are actually using BT lines anyway! |

Thanks Errol. Was beginning to think it was my computer. It is connecting, but couldn't log in, it kept saying password invalid. Took ages trying to get in, finally got in through the help pages. Clare It's not normally too bad. Not had too many problems with BT. Service normally really good. Gem:))) |
