We had our break in butlins Accommodation was great, soft sofas/beds, wine chocs, patio doors, kitchenette, toiletries in bathroom...fab ! Entertainment very orientated on the under fives, too much billy bear, Mr men and Bob the builder....and lots of entertainment time focused on character photos...which cost ! Low spot was when comedian David Copperfield told condom jokes (Darth Vader glow in the dark light sabre ones) all with actions. In a family venue, it wasn't nice even though it was 9.30pm. Kyle smirked (hes 12) but luckily Connie diddnt understand. D/C seemed to be overwhelmed by his own importance but his whole act was really stale. At least the weather was on our side ! Elaine x

that was good Elaine. I have fond memories of Butlins in the 60s/70s. Minehead mostly although did spend a week at Clacton. Bet it has changed somewhat now. I remember OH disconnecting the loudspeaker in our chalet so we would not be woken at 0730 by teh wakey wakey campers shout!! We are off to Florida on 4th April, sharing a villa with son and his wife and two children (private pool). Ann Glos

We're going to Santorini for a fortnight at the end of May - have wanted to go since a day trip there from Crete many moons ago. If you like Greece, I can highly recommend Parga - will be going back there one day! Would like to be able to afford to go back to the Maldives or Mauritius but not for a long while yet! Debby

Sue like Lil I stayed in Kissimmee private villa. Pass wise we had a 3 day over 5. As mum worked for a travel agent (once) we had business cards as travel consultants (reduced price entry ......shhhhh) You really do need lots of time for it but try not doing the days back to back otherwise you will need a hol to recover LOL. have a good time. Anyone thinking of going to China then I can recommend The Red House Hotel in Beijing. It is about 20mins from the airport. It is also within walking distance of the underground. Maybe not a 5 star hotel but very comfortable. Bit like an English bar downstairs, you can get bar meals etc. We went to all the touristy bits, Great Wall, Summer Palace etc. Also went to Xian to see the Terracotta Army. This is a must. We went on an overnight sleeper there & back. Interesting as we were the only Westerners in our carriage. Although lots of people everywhere, we never felt threatened at all. Taxies are everywhere & very cheap. Well worth a visit. Hilary.
