Joan I know a Smurthwaite family in my town Maiden name Athersmith which I like as its unusual, Married names Judd and Oliver, prefer 2nd lol! caz xxxxxxxx |

I prefer my married name, even though I'm divorced. Not because I'm ashamed of my maiden name, far from it, but because of the comments. My sister is the same. Its a relief lol. |

When I was a kid I was always last in the queue at school because of the W of Wicks. :(( Now I'm a B. Not that I tend to be in alphabetical queues much these days but I quite like my married name. We decided not to do double barrelled.........Wicks-Burne or Burne-Wicks would have been too laughable! Best wishes Sue |

Maiden name Allinson, married name Whiting (no fish jokes please!) Don't mind either really, but wish people would learn to spell them properly. The n was always missed out of Allinson and often have an e put into Whiting. Am a bit sad really though, because no-one will carry my maiden name on. |
