200 prisoners are to receive out of court settlements because they were refused heroin while in prison and had to go cold turkey........................excuse me but who was supposed to supply the heroin and who was going to pay for it???? I thought it was an illegal drug.

I think that the gist of it was............ new prisoners are supposed to get seen by the M.O., and their needs assessed..............these prisoners were ''Missed'' out, and so were ''subject to inhumane treatment'' while treatment for their addictions was temporarily withheld..........and to avoid a costly series of court cases , they were settled '' Out of Court'...........and If THAT isn't setting a PRECEDENT I dont know what is........ Bob..

Myhuman rights have been vilated when drug addicts attempt to break into my shed during the night to steal things to sell for their drug money. Who do I get compensation from?

Hi folks, I presume when these offenders were on the outside they robbed to feed their habit. They probably subjected those they stole from to ''inhumane treatment'' . Seems to me they're getting a fitting punishment. Besides, if they are off heroin before they get released hopefully they'll stay off and save on rehabilitaton costs. I wish! Caz

Hubby wants to know if it will be possible to sue hospitals because you are not allowed to smoke while you are a patient! Does that not infringe your human rights too when you have nicotine withdrawal symptoms! LOL I will add that he is a non smoker and he said it tongue in cheek (just in case anyone takes offence). there was a bit of a discussion about this at work and it seems that if you are unemployed and declare yourself an aloholic you get an extra £40 per week. Seriously considering jacking my job in and downing a few before staggering into the job centre. lol

seems to work in our area. The drinkers are better off. My hubby had to go to our area office to sign papers for a rented garage, he really got his eyes opened and boy do they know how to work the system.

Clearly, YES is the answer to the original question. If the lead pipes did it for the Romans I guess it must be the lead in the gasoline fumes this time round >

It's no more mad than usual/than it ever has been. Ask any elderly person what the old folk were saying when they (the elderly person) were young. :-)

Probably. I am a habitual sluggard. However, as I also like many of the good things in life (food, drink, etc.), I have to go out and work to earn the money for them, as the government is not providing me with the money to fund my habits. This is obviously forced labour! Do I have a case? Rob
