thats a pity teresa, might be worth you having lessons, as with arthritis, motobility adapt the cars to suit you. i helped a chap recently to get his car, he had a triple heart bypass, and he couldn't walk far... he got a new mercedes, albeit the small one. bryan. |

Well I might not get it, they are only sending me the forms tomorow.. His DLA is based on me as a carer, thats why they want to send this for me to claim. Its not like its going to be a huge amount but if it gets me the fare to the doctors every week with him it will help. My account is well and truly in the black with dwp, I have always worked and paid my taxes, so feel no shame in claiming anything now I need to. If they are going to help me claim a little more, then all well and good. Besides, I will have to have help when I go in hospital and for a while after. |

hi teresa, if your able to claim the package, it might be worth looking at motobility, you get a brand new car every two years, and all you pay for is the fuel. bryan. |

Oh sorry no was going to say be careful get advice before you complete the form, as i find it strange they give you incapacity benefit meaning unable to work, but then say there'll pay you to care for some one, just seems strange to me, Sorry if you are offend but was just curious, Lilx |

Both of us are on incapacity, and he is on DLA, I'm still waiting to see if I qualify for DLA. I have been looking after my OH for three years since his stroke, now I have arthritis and can't work. Anythign else you want to know? |

Just find it strange you can be on a incapacity benefit yet get allowance as a carer, or is the package for you to get support to care for your hubby Lilx |

Its a carers package. I didn't know anything about it until they said on the phone this morning. Should get it in the post tomorrow. |

Had a shock this morning...got my payment from dwp...all gone through ok, though the letter said this is your final payment, so I have been panicking all weekend... However they said it was badly worded and they would pay my incapacity every two weeks starting next wed. Then they said I could claim extra as a carer for my OH, and I should claim it and get as much as I can!!!!! *shocked* |

Got Phone call from Hospital this morning, whilst at work to say they were moving her. Transport booked for 2, they finally got her there about 5. Visited her there this evening. She is very tired, but in is lovely & spacious in her new ward & she seems pleased to be there. She had her stroke & fall Sept 20th,her left ancle was smashed so badly that they had to fuse it.It will be another 5 weeks before she can put her left foot to the ground. Then they will be able to see if she is still able to walk. |
