My daughter, her boyfriend and another couple went out last night for a meal then followed on to a club. In the taxi on the way home her bf and her friend started to feel really dodgy and couldn't move. When they got back they both had to be carried in and the doctor was called. The doctor seemed to think they had been spiked with a date rape drug and that the effects would wear off. They had their drinks with them at all times and didn't really interact with anyone else. They are fine this morning but it is scary to think this happens. It has been reported to the police. Jackie

Thats terrible, Its frightening to think what happens. Im glad their both ok,it really makes you frightened of going out.

It is the first time they had gone out since they had their baby, My daughter only drank soft drinks as she is breast feeding and her bf only had a couple. Please be careful when you go out, and tell your kids if they go out to be careful and always stay with friends. I dread to think what could have happened if they had been separated. Jackie

The police are investingating the club as it has happened there alot lately, but I doubt they will catch anyone. Thanks for the information about the lids, I will get them some. Jackie

My friend sells them to pubs and clubs and the police force have been very interested in the product ,as they are aware there is a problem with spiking. She probably does sell a few at a time too. They are re-usable which is a bonus. Sunny Rosy

i had this done to me once i was in a darts competion and me and a friend were drinking white wine , i had heard some lads saying things about my friend which wernt very nice , later i felt very tired all i remeber was waking up behind the curtain by specky who thought i had just one to many, every one was annoyed with me saying i shouldn get like that however i checked my purse i had had 2 glasses of wine the next day. after a bit of investigating it turned out these lads had spiked my drink with the same thing what these idiots dont realise what about people who take medication and the deadly reactions this could cause.

Hi Jackie My daughter had her drink spiked about 18 months ago when she was in a nightclub. The police arranged an ambulance to take her to hospital. Luckily my niece was with her and she phoned me whilst in the ambulace with my daughter and I was able to speak to the paramedic and arranged to meet them at the hospital. She was really poorly and totally unaware of what was going on around her. My daughter never thought it would happen to her although I was always telling her to keep hold of her drink. I must say that it really scared her and it took her some time to get over it. She hardly ever goes to clubs now.

My eldest daughter went through a phase of going to a few of those raves. She never carried a bag and always had a small clutch purse which she would put down the inside of her boots. She also never let anyone buy her a drink or left it unattended. If she did for any reason then she wouldn't touch it again in case someone had tampered with it. Any establishment which has this type of thing happening should be shut down. It might not stamp it out entirely but would be a warning to others to be more security conscious and search people entering their premises. Personally, I think anyone caught doing this sort of thing should be charged with attempted murder. Aileen xx

Sorry i haven't been able to get back to any of you, my youngest hijacked the pc. It is surprising how many people have had this happen to them, and I bet this is just the tip of the iceberg. How many are either too drunk to realise or simply don't report it. Thank god you and your kids all lived to tell the tale and I feel for the ones that have been separated from friends and these people have got on their own. I dread to think what has happened to them. If they find these drugs on anyone they should lock them up and throw away the key. There is no reason to carry them apart from sinister activities. Hi Jackie, What a terrible thing to happen! I hope they are OK now. I had to call the ambulance out for my daughter only last month following a possible drink-spiking. Turns out that madam was merely as drunk as a skunk. When I discussed it with my friends, I was shocked by how many had experienced their own kids havings had drinks spiked or who knew of other victims. One told me of a 20 year old teetotaller who started acting drunk on mineral water and who woke-up in hospital, initially labelled as having drunk too much alcohol! Other friends with her also felt peculiar but none had let their drinks out of their sight the whole evening, so they were baffled. It would have been ignored were it not for the reaction the teetotaller had suffered. It turned out that a member of the bar staff had been responsible !! Now none of that lady's friends dare drink anything other than unopened drinks in bottles when they go out. Just goes to show, you cannot be too careful. It is a shame that we are forced into being so paranoid though.

Last christmas my daughter when to a works xmas do, her an two other girls shared a bottle of wine daughter an friends,dont remember anything after, she was bought home by another girlfriend,son in law said she was almost unconsious,and thought she was drunk, to this day none of them have remembered a thing, and she hasnt had a drink since, and this was with friends who she trusted
