Well,I Belong to the other site too! I am certainly not in any clique,I talk to anyone that wants to talk to me providing their polite and are not known trouble causers:-))

Crikey Roger, I'm very surprised to hear you posting like that, after the civil replies. It's replies like yours that put me off posting; I'm regretting posting that now. Forget it. :-(

To be honest, I can see why Roger would say that. After all, you do have to know somebody who can invite you. Having said that, there are so many members of both sites, all you have to do is ask. I've invited a few people who have asked. The site is well moderated so any troublemakers are soon weeded out, before any damage is done. Its not cliquey though Roger, not really, its just not open to general scrutiny, and that is due to some problems we had in the beginning, which have been ironed out now. However, from lessons learned in the beginning, the site will remain closed until the site owner decides that it can be open again. That is not to say that it is difficult to gain membership. As I said, all youhave to do is ask, and you will be most welcome.

Sorry I appear to have made you angry Roger that was not my intention. As you say freedom of speach. My opinion was differing from yours in as much as I did not think the other site a clique. Once again as you must now if you are a member of the other site, we are not allowed to say anything wrong about GR, and therefore it is polite not to do likewise here about other sites. Don't ever say I am not on other site and know nothing about it . Well I am, but it is a site which nobody can join without not knowing anyone on it. Also I am on here to get help via family trees etc of people who are connected to my tree, all over the world, yes if you had been quick when it wasfirst set up anyone could join. So it is a Clique site you cannot get away from that fact. In fact how do new people who do not know anybody when you start doing family trees get on it. Sorry that my opinion of it. Freedom of speach, comes to mind.

Hello Roger, I can only echo what Lemon and a couple of others have said about the other side. I can see your point about new members having to have invites, but unfortunately that was the only solution at the time; to my mind it still is, sadly. Which, of course, doesn't help the majority of 'law-abiding' folk on GR. Like others here, I read more than I post, and am definitely not in a clique. In fact, when I first joined GR I thought there were little cliques, but I later learnt that it was merely members that had 'made friends' on here which surely, is a good thing. :-)
