For those that are old enough try thinking of it as old money. 17 pence was 1s 5p....so 5pm. Works for me.

Oh gawd now I am confused Sue! lol I'm not too bad but 1700 and 1900 never seem to register for some reason. I also have trouble with my 7 and 9 times tables too, so maybe it's just those numbers I don't understand! lol

Talking of German,Anne, we were on a trip to one of the Dams, and I heard the tour guide say,(roughly) what time we got to be back? Halb Fumpf was the reply.............Ah! methinks 5 30! NOT SO!! it was Half TO five = 4:30...........guess who was late?

Jeff, I would have though 2/6 was 30d, so from that 30 - 24 hrs = 1 day and six hours from now lol.

Bobtanian Report 31 Oct 2006 23:55

LOL...... You CANNOT be serious..............2/6 = 1/8 of £1 so 1/8 of a day is 3am.......... Bob

I'm getting a bit confused here, according to Keith's calculations 1d = 1 hour but according to Bob £1 = 1day so does that mean that there are 240 hours in a day. No wonder I'm too early for my appointments LOL
