Being fairly new on the boards, I am in somewhat of a pickle. It appears to me that we have become a race obsessed with abbreviations. Now I know that these are handy for people who send texts by mobile phone etc, but I, being a little ancient, seem to have been left behind. I keep seeing the letters PM on here and I always thought that stood for Prime Minister. So you can see my dilemma. So will some kind souls please enlighten me a.s.a.p. before I go o.o.m.m. Lol Not too many at once please or you'll have me going dizzy. Jumbled up Jeff. x

Hi Jeff, pm means private/personal email to another member.

Jeff, Somewhere there is a thread called abbreviations with a list of those used on the boards. iw ill try and nudge it up for you. Ann Glos

Jeff if you search 'abbreviations' on general threads full lists have been posted in past hope this helps T.O.R. ;~))

OK Jeff, here we go...some of the more common abbreviations you will see:- PM - Private Message LOL - Laugh Out Loud PMSL - er 'wetting' MySelf Laughing BTW - By the Way IMO - In My Opinion IMHO - In My Humble Opinion WUM - Wind UP Merchant

jeff you cant be ancient, i have trouble trying to decief ** read whats written sometimes, i find if i say it over and over in my head, i sometimes get it, or even slowly like your abbrev, ' o o m m' i had to go o o out of my mind, got it, sorry you must think im bonkers sat here i think you could be right
