Member Since: July 2005 Posts: 23,508 Send Message	Slightly off the subject but in context, Richard Cobden, MP for Stockport in the mid 1800 started as a travelling salesman selling textiles. If you google the name there is plenty of information on him, and it might give you a bit of an insight.
