i have only had stuff sent to my bulk messages...that i am weerie of.thank goodness

Mine came from michelledotyoung188athot mail dot com* and definately came from GR because they used my board name, which I have now changed. Whats going on?

Mine has come to my w*nadoo address. Do we know if they are also using members email addresses as part of the fake sender¨s address? It seems strange that the name given as sender on mine and on another mentioned here are to be found in name searches on this site or is that just co-incidence?

where do i find it?

i'v just signed in had an e-mail in my junk box 'Good day Chris' just deleted it. i'm with hm, should i be worried chris

I didnt do reply i sent a separate email. i only opened originaly because i have harris in my address book otherwise would have deleted. have done a virus check to be safe

Please don't reply to the spam - it tells the sender that it's a live email addy. So far we Have: Y4hoo - 10 Tuscali - 2 BT - 1 My - 1 international Gmail - 1 H0tmail - 0 Google mail - 0 NTL - 0 Freeserve / Wannadoo - 0 nb. and BT are in partnership, Tuscali has some kind of relationship with BT as their broardband is Tuscali BT.

Just a thought, I have been getting a lot of mail about V--gra - not wanted at all. could that have come from this site too?

Ill be irate if I start getting phishing mail through, Ive done very well keeping my mailbox completely spam free and you wouldn't expect it from a site such as GR. Has anyone read the T+C, are we sure they dont sell addresses?

I delete at least 10 per day but as I never open them I don't know if they use my user name or not. I'm Y4hoo as well - also have aol but rarely use it. I do think 'Joke' mails forwarded with a list of other addresses are very bad and my probs coincidentally started after someone did this.

I have just checked my Ya4oo, and I have got one too. Spooky isn't it? However, I do feel that it is wrong, and am glad that I have decided not to renew on here.

Just discussed all this with hubby (he's in IT). Hacking is a possibility, but not very likely as the hacker would have to be extremely clever and have access to a very clever program. Far more likely is that someone at GR - legitimately or otherwise - has sold or passed on membership names and private email addresses. Mandy x
