Sorry about this for Jess. I didn't know someone could pretend to be someone else on GR, the idea that this can me done is a real problem for GR and for us. Steps should be taken to prevent this from happening ever again. As for Jess I do hope she manages to sort this out with GR and those people who are doing this should be banned, not Jess. Betty

Meercat We all email each other little funnies and stuff via our private email accounts. Now how many of those have you received where the forwarding email addresses haven't been removed? Your address could have been passed on like that. Scary ain't it!

If moderators of ANY forum, not just the GR one, are doing their job properly, they would know exactly where the other accounts are coming from, who's generating them etc. My son and his girlfriend are moderators on his music website and they immediately know who is a spammer, where the hits are coming from, and who has multiple accounts. All this has gone way beyond the usual arguments and disagreements that you're bound to get on a large forum like this. We are now getting individuals being targeted endlessly, bullied, impersonated and hounded. If this happened in your home or your workplace, the police and courts would no doubt be involved. GR should have a duty of care to their members and as long as we all take reasonable safety precautions, GR are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure site. My OH happens to be an IT consultant and he can't believe how bad the security is on this site. I've said many times on this site - and it's never been a secret - that I have three accounts (my birth tree, my adoptive tree and my husband's tree) under the same email address. I have never once been questioned by GR about using the same email address and the same payment card. I'm actually quite concerned about being a member of this site and am thinking of setting up a totally separate email address just for GR. Mandy

I, as usual, missed it but wish I knew who it was so that I can ignore threads in their own names in future. I have tracked numbers but can't find the one Joy has pointed out. It is such a pity, we all miss Jess and know she can't post on here so what is the point? Why can't these people allow things to settle down, the two sites could then run amicably side by side. I have friends in both places and hope to keep it that way. Ann Glos

Please also read my thread called ''Impersonation is against the T&C.'' The post purporting to be from Jess had a *slightly* different board name. The post purporting to be from Old Crone had the same board name as hers but with a hyphen at the end (member no 5773883).

Jess has been the target of a lot of unpleasantness for some time. Very unfair and unjustified. Gwynne

This is disgusting. I should jolly well hope GR ARE going to sort it out - it is THEIR problem, Jess and OC are the victims. On another site I wanted to register with, I had to choose a different user name, because somone else was already registered with the one I would normally use. If a similar safeguard was to be set up here, such impersonation could never have happened. Jay

What can I say!!! these people need locking up, poor Jess has been though such a lot on these boards, and even though she was blamed for things she didn't do and left, she still gets blamed, why are some people so jealousy..nothing more I can say really......only hi to Heather......and please tell Jess she is badly missed on these boards, and I hope she is OK........Lilly

Sad - and these are the people GR supported when we all told them the ones suspended were the innocent ones. There you go. I like it on the other board anyway.
