Have you ever been the one to tell them? I had to at work some years ago, a delegation of ladies insisted I say something to this guy who had tide marks on his suit jacket!! I was very diplomatic and said I had noticed but suggested he sort it out before the ladies noticed.....phew....he was ripe.

Years ago I worked with a girl in the same office who had really bad stale BO. I finally plucked up the courage to buy her some deodorant, put it on her desk with a llittle note saying 'If you use this you'll be really nice to be near'. It worked too. Sylvxx

So strange this thread should come up today, my daughter came in from work last night and said a man of 27 had just started in her part of the office, her and her work partner have to train him, she said he smells so bad mum i want to heave, people have all remarked about the dreadful smell. She said i don't think i can work with him.I feel a bit sorry for him but how on earth do you tell someone they smell. Shirley Ann.

I did see it , i had sugested that to my daughter last night, but she was mortified lol.she said MOTHER i can't do that when i hardly know him.I then suggested she wait a few days and get her male work partner to give him some smellies and just say, have you tried this. Shirley Ann.

Yes, that sounds good to me Shirley. It IS a very difficult problem to deal with tactfully but it can be done. And there was no ill feeling from her about it all. Sylvxx
