Well - this will date me! I'm of a 'certain' age when we went to proper discotheques one of which was called the Electic Onion!! I had a wonderful pair of trousers called Loons. They were the biggest flares you've ever seen and the top of the leg was mauve, and the bottom of the leg was lilac with a Vee shaped join at the knee. I had a pair of platform shoes that would put Elton John's to shame! Black 'n' Silver they were, and had 5' (Yes - 5 inch) heels. And finally the shirt - can't actually remember if it was brushed or bri-nylon - but hey - each is equally classy!! And they were in lurid paisley patterns with a matching tie! Gosh - I cut a dash then......... |

Ann from Glos - The black and white striped trousers sound delightful as do the Gingham hotpants lol but you have made the board with the saggy swimsuit !!! Brilliant !! Eleanor - Pmsl i had one of those too Little lost Cousin - A jumpsuit on it's own wouldn't have made the boards but BOTTLE GREEN ????? eeeeeeew pmsl Margaret you are excused due to your young age at the time Charlie Chuckles - did you have the bubbly mullett hair do with that as well !!! lol Howie pmsl !!! |

Sunday dress - pale yellow with lace around the sleeves and neck - wore a vest/undershirt with the thin straps underneath, and used to pull my pantyhose right up to mid-chest to give the illusion that the vest was a ''bra'' and the darker pantyhose were my bare midriff. I was 11. |

Luckily, reading the foregoing, my teens were pre fashion for teens being pos war in the 50s. I did hve black lycra trousers in the early 70s (I think it was), and also looking back a horrible pair of flared black and white striped trousers, also in the 70s. I do remember the 'lovely' knitted swimsuit that I had when about 6 which, by the time I came out of the water was like a sack down to my knees. Then there were the pink gingham hot pants and split skirt int he 60s. Ann Glos |

ok will start with oh-in the 70's his dad used to make him wear brown platform shoes, brown bell-bottomed chords, pink paisley patterned shirt with wide collars to the shoulders and pink paisley kipper tie.he has destroyed all evidence.lol as for me i used to have rah,rah skirts, ankle warmers and ruffled white blouses-typical 80's teenager. worst item was from clockhouse at c&a -black & yellow checked trousers(huge checks lol) was called bumble for weeks. now have to fess up to something else-Oriflame is still going-I was a manager for them till 18 months ago!!!! |

Pmsl. You spoke too soon Strump. I have been out for a bit but am now back and have chosen a few of the horrors for the board and surprise surprise you have made it AGAIN - watch out Dee she is catching up with you lol !!! TJ your purple and yellow coat sounds dreadful, I would usually have excused you from the board due to your tender age but as you chose it yourself !!! - Up you go !!! lol Catherine and Jackie, It sounds like we had the same childhood/teenage wardrobes lololol (so glad it wasn't just me !!!) Strump - what can I say!!! White lycra trousers and white boob tube !!!!!!! You are on the board for that for sure !!!PMSL DEE !!!!!! My winner so far !!! Zebra striped PVC. LOLOLOLOL Sharon I will excuse you from the boards as the pink crochet dress sounds quite cute!! Lynn - I had something similar happen to me, but I think the fact that you didn't end up wearing the parka and monkey boots works in your favour in the long run !!!! |

Strump Yes we all used to dress up to go to the local disco for teenagers dressed like mini Madonna's with lacy tights, mini skirts, crop tops, bangles, huge earrings and tulle in our hair like a hairband. No wonder my mum used to tell me your not going out dressed like that. (we found our way round that though) lol Jackie |
