The Church of Latter Day Saints....... in a mo.

To say that my tree which I submitted earlier this year, has been selected out of 1000's of tree's, and is going to be officially recorded, and will go into the Granite Mountain Vaults!

Hi Betty, In Utah, near Salt Lake City, there is a big Granite Mountain. Records get put in there for preservation, and for use in future generations.

Hi Paul, I had heard of the Salt Lake City Records but I didn't know that actual name of the place they kept the records. So just asking but what was so special about your tree that the LDS are going to keep it there. Betty

Hi, I have no idea what makes my tree so special. But it said in the email, that they have had experts check my tree, and they had chosen it from 1000's. I know i'm not the only one, but obviously they were impressed! Yes, anyone can enter their tree to the LDS, on the LDS website.

Nothing interesting about the people on my tree, they're all mostly ag labs, or shoe makers.

Just read a bit more about it. Apparently my tree will be put onto Microfilm, and stored, and then be ready for distribution after i've snuffed it. :-p

Guys, It's what the LDS do ... suggest rather than me starting a religious debate here, that you look into the basis of the religion. Annie

Good Morning Paul ! I think that I am right in saying that all your ancestors will now be posthumously baptized into the Church of the Latter Day Saints - please anybody correct me if I am wrong.

That's interesting … because I was under the impression that all submitted trees were stored there.

MM, I thought that too, but apparently not. All submitted trees are put onto file, on computer, and they go through them all.

Yes they will be baptised into the church of LDS. But that doesnt make them Mormon. It's basically just a way of 'worshipping the dead', in my opinion. Different religions have different ways of worshipping the dead. And this is just the LDS's way of doing it.
