my daughter has been suffering with her gall bladder now for over 6 months. today she has had a phone call to say that her operation is next thursday 19th october!! im so relieved.she has been in so much pain and we have often had to sit with her littluns in the early hours of the morning so that her boyfriend can take her to casualty. it hurts so much to see her crying in pain, but at last it will soon be over. susie |

donna we are so relieved.the poor kid has been in so much pain. when she had her scan a few months ago they told her that she had 3 huge stones,so they are going to take the whole gall bladder out. because she is so young they are worried that she will make more stones. so its best to be safe eh? she is having it done by keyhole surgery and should only be in hospital over night,2 days at the most. susie |

lynda your poor daughter. my daughter started getting pains at christmas time last year. i told her it was probably an ulcer because she loves coke!!!lol the pain got that bad that she eventually went to the dr,after some nagging from me. it amazes me how such young girls are getting them.my daughter is 24.so young isnt it? originally my daughter was told the waiting list was 6 weeks but then it changed to 6 months which would have teken her up to xmas. the phone call today came out of the blue due to a cancellation. so maybe your daughter might be as lucky aswell hun susie x |

Susie I was almost demented with worry, like you getting the crying in pain phone calls and we live 400 miles apart. Her Doc said she had reflux two years ago so it's been going on for ages...So pleased she got sorted and we can get back to normal...All my love to you and yours.... |

I'm really pleased for you all Susie that your lass will be pain free, I didnt realise gall bladder trouble was so common, what triggers it? Caz xxxxxx |

caz apparently its fatty foods lol. my daughter had to live on a fat free diet,no dairy products what so ever. so its been dry toast,no butter on her sandwiches etc. she has missed her fry ups and pizzas so much lol. she did have a qtr of a cheese sandwich the other day but ended up in casualty for a pain killing injection. the slightest thing triggers the pain off. it has now got to the point that shes getting the pain even though shes not eating dairy or fatty foods. thank goodness shes getting sorted at last. susie x |

Hi I can sympathise with your daughter. The pain is unreal and mine used to come on all of a sudden. I used to be violently sick because of the pain. The worse time was on the ferry back from Ireland, my Dad had gone with my hubby and me and had never seen a 'gallstone attack' before. I just curled into a ball (in agony) while my hubby tried to convince my Dad that I didn't need air lifting off the ferry. I saw my GP in the October 2004, I had a scan in the December saw my consultant on Xmas Eve and had my Gall Bladder out in March 2005 (Key hole). I went in on Monday and came home Tuesday, I was off work for a couple of weeks (doctors orders). I had internal stitching but the 4 key holes were glued. I have had no pain since and can eat anything I like, without worrying about another attack. I wish your daughter all the best, I have had no problems at all, and feel great. Rebecca |

rebecca im so pleased that you are ok now. i bet your dad was frightened.i know i was when i saw limmy have an attack julie the pain starts in the left side by the rib cage and then travel to the front just below the breast. the only pain relief they could give my daughter was co-dydromol in tablet form.it doesnt kill the pain but eases it. the injection they gave her at casualty was morphine lol. my daughter is also violently sick with the attacks. susie |

My sympathies go out to you. I had gallstones about 10 years ago. It is the worst pain I have ever had to endure. I was one of the lucky ones. My G.P. gave me 2 injections of petherdine and I was able to pass my stones naturally. Best wises for a speedy recovery. |
