susie manterfield(high wycombe) Report 8 Oct 2006 11:30

i just thought i would share my wonderful news.as you all know ,my mum had a stroke in march and has been unable to do anything since. the hospital gave up on her and didnt even do any physio.so we decided we had had enough and got a private one in.well, yesterday she spent 2hrs with us and put my mum through the mill lol. she has told us that my mum will eventually be mobile again as her muscles are returning!! i was in tears.i knew she could do it. she worked on mums back muscles and leg muscles.and done plenty of excercises.eventually mum stood up ,with help from us lol. the tears were rolling down mums face, and my dads. mum we love you and we wont give up. susie

thankyou all so much. the physio that we have is fantastic.she specialises in stroke rehabilitation. the first thing she done was assess mum.she felt her muscles all over her body and said that there is no reason why mum wont walk again.!! she told us that mums muscles are returning but it could be a couple of years before they are at full strength. my dad is so happy bless him. he said the first thing he will do when mum can go in the car is to take her back to the hospital and get her to walk into the ward lol the drs there told us to put mum in a nursing home as there is no hope. what do they know eh? lol susie

That's Brilliant News Susie. Little squashy balls wil help your Mum with her arm muscles. Physio told me to get these squashy ball when my hubby had his stroke I bought them at a cheap toy store. He had one in each hand and squeezed them 10 times and gradually built that up to 50 times every couple of hours. They did work and built his arm muscles up. I hope now you have a physio in your Mum goes from strength to strength. Suexxxxxxxx
