Lost boy By Michele There was running, and screaming all over the place. That’s when the horror struck the boys face. Watching the fire from a mini TV, Suicide and dying yes he did see. Looking for one who he loved very deep, But fire and burning was all the memory he’ll keep. His loved one his dad for which didn’t live, Helped fight the fire, for his life he did give. This handsome young man died in the mess, For he gave his life to save the rest. Many people fought this fire Even though their life was required. So lets take the time to remember deeds done, For in life now there’s many fatherless sons. |

President George W. Bush - September 13th 2001 On Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked America in a series of despicable acts of war. They hijacked four passenger jets, crashed two of them into the World Trade Centre's twin towers and a third into the Headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defence at the Pentagon, causing great loss of life and tremendous damage. The fourth plane crashed in the Pennsylvania countryside, killing all on board but falling well short of its intended target apparently because of the heroic efforts of passengers on board. This carnage, which caused the collapse of both Trade Centre towers and the destruction of part of the Pentagon, killed more than 250 airplane passengers and thousands more on the ground. Civilized people around the world denounce the evildoers who devised and executed these terrible attacks. Justice demands that those who helped or harboured the terrorists be punished -- and punished severely. The enormity of their evil demands it. We will use all the resources of the United States and our cooperating friends and allies to pursue those responsible for this evil, until justice is done. We mourn with those who have suffered great and disastrous loss. All our hearts have been seared by the sudden and sense-less taking of innocent lives. We pray for healing and for the strength to serve and encourage one another in hope and faith. Scripture says: 'Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.' I call on every American family and the family of America to observe a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance, honouring the memory of the thousands of victims of these brutal attacks and comforting those who lost loved ones. We will persevere through this national tragedy and personal loss. In time, we will find healing and recovery; and, in the face of all this evil, we remain strong and united, 'one Nation under God.' Now, Therefore, I, George W. Bush, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Friday, September 14, 2001, as a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks on September 11, 2001. I ask that the people of the United States and places of worship mark this National Day of Prayer and Remembrance with noontime memorial services, the ringing of bells at that hour, and evening candlelight remembrance vigils. I encourage employers to permit their workers time off during the lunch hour to attend the noontime services to pray for our land. I invite the people of the world who share our grief to join us in these solemn observances. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this thirteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and twenty-sixth. |

9/11 VICTIMS REMEMBERED British police officers will join millions of Americans to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. They will form an honour guard for victims' families at a service near New York's World Trade Centre site to remember the 67 Britons who perished. US president George Bush drew parallels between the suicide hijackings and the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, praising the resolve of the American people. He said that once again, four years later, the US was confronting another disaster but that once again, it would recover and rebuild. 'The despair and tragedy of (September 11, 2001) were overcome by displays of selflessness, courage and compassion,' he said in a radio address to the nation. 'And in the days and weeks that followed, America answered history's call to bring justice to our enemies and to ensure the survival and success of liberty. And that mission continues today.' The British victims will be represented by 67 British officers at Old Slip park in downtown Manhattan. The A cappella choir Oxford Alternatives will play a musical tribute. Also performing at the concert will be Welsh soprano Rachel Schutz. Bells will toll at the main ceremony at Ground Zero, which begins just before 8.46am local time (1.46pm BST) - when the first tower was hit. During the day the siblings of those killed will read through victims' names. The sombre ceremony will pause four times - marking when each plane hit the towers and when each tower fell. While the names are read, family members will be able to descend the ramp to the lowest level of the site where they will lay flowers. At sunset, the Tribute in Light - twin skyward aimed spotlights - will return for one night, rising from ground zero into the night in memory of those lost. |

That afternoon we attended the funeral of Bob's much-loved aunt, who died before her time. We came back to pick the kids up from school; I met my brother there, who said 'have you heard about the plane crash today? When you get home, just turn the TV on. It's awful'. x |

Len its a hoax Summary of the eRumor An alarming email warning to watch for a virus named 'WTC Survivor', 'WTC', or 'World Trade Center.' The Truth This virus warning is a hoax. It sounds alarming and claims that the WTC virus will erase the entire hard drive on your computer. Some versions warn not to open any files that refer to the World Trade Center. This false virus warning has circulated since 2001, the year of the Attack on America and the collapse of the World Trade Center towers in New York. It tends to circulate freshly each year on the anniversary of the attacks, September 11 |

During the next several weeks be very cautious about opening or launching any e-mails that refer to the World Trade Centre or 9/11 Do not open 'WTC Survivor' It is a virus that will erase your whole 'C' drive. It will come to you in the form of an E-Mail from a familiar person. That means someone who has you in an address book has already been infected and the virus is using the address book to spread itself. Len |

09/11/01 I had a phone call from my next door neighbour. Neighbour : 'Have you got the tv or radio on ?' Me : 'no why'' Neighbour : 'Just hang up and turn on sky news now'. I sat in disbelief. I thought it was a terrible accident, then another plane hit the twin towers. Realisation set in, this was deliberate, News later filted through of a plane going down in Pennsylvania and also a plane had crashed into the Pentagon. I was shocked, the world was shocked. In a few hours the world had changed. Elaine x |
