I think Fred may have grossly exaggerated the size and strength of his rope Helen. I bet he spent all night untangling a ball of gardening twine and scrabbled for hours in the attic to find that precious dusty copy of 'Teach Yourself to Hang, Torture and Maim in Seven Easy Steps' - the revised edition.
