I was raised Roman Catholic and brought up in a convent but am now of the Wicca faith. This does not stop me from praying for such a remarkable human being that John Paul is. May his God grant him a comfortable crossing and eternal peace.

I'm not at all religious but I feel sad that his innings as Pope is coming to an end. I think that it will be a happy release when he fnally goes because the poor man seems to have suffered in his last years. I think that he has a kind face and hope that his successor is as good because he'll have some big boots to fill. Louise

I felt sad that the poor old man had to carry on in what were evidently his final weeks of life.I really wished him a few weeks of peace and quiet to slip away. The saddest thing I have ever heard was Pope John Paul struggling to give his final blessing at the window.I hope he has no pain.

I am a catholic(Left foot as Chris likes to call me) My prayers go out to Pope John Paul, what an amazing and truly inspiring man.Haven`t always agreed with his views, but I admore him for sticking by his morals whilst those around him didn`t. Also admire the fact that he went to jail to visit and prayer with the man who shot him!!! How many people could do this?? He will leave a great mark on this world!May he be in peace xxxx

I think it's sad. Not in my nature to pray though. But it is sad.
