I also agree 100% with you Dave. Looking at this from 12,000 miles away. For instance, some of us from others Countries eg: (Ozzies )will most likely never meet anyone on these threads, so building a good friendship with other folk and hoping to be accepted as ' one of the group' means a lot to some. Talking and learning about other Countries and cultures is my way of education, and if i happen to gain a friend along the way, its a bonus. I personally have spoken on and off the boards ( private Email ) to some wonderful people from all over the world, some that have never added a single thread to the general board, but read them everyday. I have built up a great friendship and trust without ever being face to face with these people. Some i will meet eventually/hopefully when i come to the U.K this year. To my way of thinking, we are all human beings, and what Country/Race/Religion you were born to, or wether you have been on the boards for 4 years or one day, proffesional Geno or newbie, makes no difference to me personally. The General Board to me, is a place to build friendship through a common interest, and i will continue to build up as many frienships on and off these boards as i can. Tony Oz :>)) Dave. hi, .... i'm sure if it wasnt people like you and Ali, Dave... i would have got bored weeks ago... you always have a nice 'place' to stop and unwind and all the BE... (almost put BEAST lol) BEST people drop in for a quickie & a joke or two... i get to know a few more of you by the day... ive given up hope on my lost relly's YOUR MUCH MORE FUN ANYWAY...... and ALIVE !!!!!!ps plz save some baileys 4 me xxxxxxxxxx

Christopher I respect your views and in some instances they may be true I have found though in over 18 months on this site that people are so caring and genuine in the main, and I dont have any reason to doubt the many nice people on this site and some truly beautiful natured and kind people and close friends who know who they are. i hav built up some fantastic friendships here, i hav also met many of those people at meets and now socially too ! some r friends for life that i trust completly !

Christopher, As in real life, it is possible to establish common ground with people on this site, and the Meets are organised so that members can actually get together and talk face to face. Although I've only been to one and was quite apprehensive beforehand, I was very pleasantly surprised that my pre-conceived ideas about some people and about 'cliques' were wrong. I didn't think I'd fit in at all because most people there had been GR members for a lot longer than I had, and some seemed to be the best of friends beforehand. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly, and it soon became obvious that they hadn't all met before. Several others were 'newcomers' just like me, but we all got on without any problems, and I had a very enjoyable afternoon. I'm looking forward to attending other Meets - something I wouldn't consider if my first experience had been bad. As far as trust goes, I'm willing to trust people until they prove me wrong. CB >|<

Christopher - I have met (in person) many of my good friends on GR and most of those that I haven't met have met those I have... Does that make sense? I'm confusing myself now... becx (poorly)
