for this year are's is £5.00 short of £1000 for a band .c property it's disgraceful.i think the council should have no say in how much they charge .it's daylight robberyxxxxx:-(

I had mine today, wasn't too much of a shock, has gone up by about ... 50-75 I think. about £1200 now

Ours has gone up by 3.5% £45 to £1234 for a band D house. I don't think our council do a bad job, I'm not convinced the police do much, but I am sure we don't need so many peoplew working in the town hall. Ros (still waiting for the bill)

thats about the same as ours Ros, ours is band D too. I'm not quite so confident of how good a job our council do though !

we get recycling BAGS now, not boxes. No wheelie bin. There is a scheme for the removal of garden refuse for which you can BUY a wheelie bin. If you try and put it out in bags, then leave it.

You lot don't know how well off you are. Had our bill last week and it's £1,850 p.a. (band F). By next year it'll overtake the mortgage.

well if I could afford a band F house, I wouldn't grumble ;)

Just had ours today and wasn't as bad as we thought ... ours is also band D and gone up from £1220 to £1270 pa. As for the bins, that's another story ........... We now have the following bins in our house: Brown wheelie bin for garden waste (costs us £25 a year) - collected fortnightly. Green wheelie bin for non-food waste - collected fortnightly Black recycling box for papers etc - collected fortnightly Brown lidded bin for food waste only - collected weekly Weeny brown lidded bin for food waste to keep in your kitchen. We lined them all up on the pavement outside last week and took a photo, it was like those Russian dolls!

Hi Not received ours yet. For Band F last year it was just over £1700. Have read that our increase this year will be lower than most. I wait with baited breath. Oh and we don't pay for the brown/green wheelie bins. We have a fortnightly collection of garden rubbish (up to 4 bags) which is used around the borough from April-Oct. and we get free compost bins if we want them. Plus they do a pickup of large unwanted household items (6 at a time) twice a year. So can't complain too much. We are one of the greenest London Boroughs. How nice. Aileen

Not had it yet.Ive just looked on the website for our council and we're in band F.Last year is was just under 2k,i dont know how much its going up by,but we wont be able to afford it lol.Someone told me that our council now charge £10 if you want a large item picked up by them and disposed of. Do different councils have different house prices for the various bands?When we lived in London,our house was worth more than the one we are in now,but the council tax was cheaper Anna :-)

Our is £1,525.31 for band E. Gone up 5%. Herforshire. I think it's dreadful. I reckon it's the governments way of getting even more money out of us. Don't tell me the local council dont give a percentage to the government. Otherwise where is the money going? Our roads and pavements are badly in need of repair, but nothing gets done. Actually it makes me spit bullets! Jo.

the councils use the same prices for the bands, but, if you get an area where there is a lot of cheaper housing say Band D and under and not so much in the bigger bands the bigger bands would get charged proportionally less. Seem to remember Birmingham being expensive for that reason compared to wealthier Solihull. More rural areas where there are not so many housing estates the opposite would happen. hope this makes sense. Ros. You would have been better off under the poll tax!
