sorry all , nudging this every so often because I would love to make contact with someone who especially went to the Experience Club. New people are joining up who may relate to this, so with a lot of grovelling to all, I will nudge this once in a while |

I used to go to the Empire, Leicester Square, Lyceum and Stringfellows up in Town. Used to pop into Peppermint Park before going into Stringgies! My mates and I used to share one of their huge desserts! I also went to Eltons, The Coolbury Club and the Mayfair in Tottenham, the Royalty in Southgate, Fagans and Bumbles in Woodgreen. Was out clubbing nearly every night! When we weren't clubbing we used to spend a lot of time in the pubs around Bethnal Green, Hackney and Mile End. AL |

In 1966/7 I had a few months of visiting London every weekend, from the sticks of wild Norwich lol when my then boyfriend was doing chef training at an hotel in Russell Sq. I would stay with a pal who had a bedsit in Victoria while she was studying in London, and my boyfriend would take me to Ronnie Scotts and Club 100 where I saw Humphrey Lyttleton and other wellknown artists including Elkie Brooks. One night we went back to her home in Hither Green with her, Pete Gage (her man of the time) and more people, and stayed overnight. The next morning loads more folk came round including Ebony Keyes? who was helping do some auditions for people to join a band. Was very exciting for someone from Norfolk! |
