This is urgent, matter of life and death.

Need to find relatives of Brian Collins born 1930 in Walsall, believed to have been a butcher. Any info, please. Have found one relative on here but she is not opening her messages.

Have you found his birth reg on Freebmd or any other site?
Does he have any middle names or initials?
What research have you done yourself?

It could be that the person who has him listed in their tree is no longer an active member. As you probably know, GR never removes dormant accounts.
Have you been able to work back from her to see how they are related?

As Walsall fell under Staffordshire, is this his birth? Vol & page removed for privacy.

Births Sep 1930 (>99%)
Collins Brian V M mmn Jackson Bromsgrove

Added - this particular man, or someone with the same name, is listed on the current ER, but not in the Midlands.

Bromsgrove isn't Staffordshire

ErikaH Report 27 Nov 2018 14:29

The only one born Walsall anywhere near to 1930 is in 1933

Jilly

Jilly Report 27 Nov 2018 16:24

Yes, it could be the 1933 one, I think that is the one I am trying to contact. Haven't had time to do much research and time is running out.
Even if the account is dormant the message will still go to her email address, if she has kept the same one, of course.
Don't know whom he married.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 27 Nov 2018 16:33

In that case, he is/was Brian J Collins.

Parents likely to be Bernard Collins & Kathleen M Maloney who married in 1932.

Are you looking for direct descendants because he’s lost touch with them, or for anyone vaguely related?
.....

People change regular email addresses but don’t update their accounts.
Anything from GR is consigned to The Bin.
They could be away from home.
They might have died or become infirm.

The first closed record could be Brian. The 2nd, his sister Pauline M. There was another sister b 1940.

Yes, need to contact his children and grand children, it is literally life or death, not exaggerating. Obviously do not want to go into too much details on here.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 27 Nov 2018 16:56

Unless you know who he married, you can't hope to find children/grandchildren.

Have you reason to think he married anyone?

Freebmd has numerous marriages for Brian J Collins in various areas

Where is he living now?

Jilly

Jilly Report 27 Nov 2018 17:02

No, don't know anything about him, that's why I came on here. If the record I found on here, and the person would open her messages, I would have all the info I needed, and be able to get help for his children.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 27 Nov 2018 17:06

In that case, one has to ask what your connection is

'Help for his children' - suggests that you know who they are................

In your first post you said he was born in 1930, yet the GR tree clearly has a birth year of 1933

The tree owner may not ever get your message, for any one of the reasons outlined above

Jilly

Jilly Report 27 Nov 2018 17:24

I am assuming it's his daughter who has entered his details into her tree. I am helping his first born daughter whom he may not know exists.

Jilly Report 27 Nov 2018 17:34

Just looked at the scanned birth record on FreeBMD and its Brian M Collins, mothers maiden name Maloney, Walsall. Brian J is above that entry and different mothers maiden name, and wrong location, so now really confused.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 27 Nov 2018 18:05

You’re right. The middle initial has been incorrectly transcribed. It should be Brian M Collins. The rest of the details are correct. Will submit a correction.

So we’re looking for any descendants of Brian M Collins.

Although I don’t doubt your sincerity, or the ‘life or death’ reason for trying to find descendants, I’m a little concerned at the speed you’ll need to gain their confidence. If Brian may not know of his additional child, his other children wouldn’t either.

on bdm it says brian j collins mother maloney

brian m was born 1938

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 27 Nov 2018 18:15

Malyon, you need to look at the actual image. Brian J Collins, entered immediately above him, was born in [a different reg District.] same quarter, same year.
( sorry, either my internet connection is messing about or Freebmd keeps timing out)

I think the poster should look at freebmd herself

We should be very careful about involvement in something like this
