It's wet and it's raining down here in South Wales
I cannot go out, so no use contemplating!
Neither have I time now for thinking up tales:-(
I really should get on with the decorating! :-| ;-) :-D

Well, Nell's reaction to the attack with the last
Was frighteningly furious,
And extremely fast!

With an ease that only years of weightlifting bred,
She lifted the cobbler
And threw him over her head

The cobbler, shrieking a curse to the sky,
Which involved some anatomical impossibilities,
Went round in circles, as his life flashed by.

His trajectory was stopped by the dinning room wall
Which he hit with a sickening thud,
And proceeded downwards to fall.

This caused him to pause and reflect on his life,
Wondering why, oh why,
Had he taken Nell to be his wife?

Now every story, we are told, my friend,
Has to have a beginning,
A middle and an end.

Now you may think
That I've started with the end
( I blame that on all red that I drink)

Not so, I've just used dramatic licence,
To build up the drama,
And as a starting point for further joyance.

Good Morning to Rhymers, Everyone
And even Good Evening to some (ie Allan) :-D

I have to go and do some work
It's much too easy to sit and shirk

I'm looking forward to reading Allan's Ditty
With my cuppa later, and a crisp Rich Tea
(Well a chocolate Chip Cookie really ... but it didn't fit) :-D

"Further Joyance" does mean that there's got to be more!
I wonder what Allan, for us, has in store?
'Bout the long-suff'ring Cobbler and his awful Nell ....
Who most certainly must be the Wife from H*ll! :-0 :-D

The poor old sod that stuck with nell
Needs rescuing from his living hell

I'm so misunderstood, it must be said.
Not all my ideas are produced by red!
As with many things in my life,
My inspiration derives from my wife.

Am I saying that my wife is like Nell?
No I'm not, but even then I wouldn't tell.
Her stature is infinitely smaller
While compared to the cobbler, I'm definitely taller

How did it happen? How had it risen
That in the Lottery of life,
the cobbler hadn't won any division!

He thought back to his younger days,
Although it was so far back
It was a bit of a haze.

He thought back to all the girls he had known
With many of whom,
With his wild oat's he'd sown.

There was Molly and Mandy, but June was the best.
Also Chrissie and Susan,
And Sarah and Yvonne, with the rather large chest

Who had he upset? Who could tell,
but out of all the girls,
He ended up with Nell.

Now I'll not lie, Nell was cosidered a looker
and in her youth was thought by many
to be ..

(Before I complete this verse,
With many minds like mine, or worse,
Some readers may have thought of a rhyme for looker,
And given Nell's later reputation,
that may indeed be the situation. But for now...)

An excellent cooker.

Her boiled beef and cabbage was exceedingly nice
Although her Tripe and Onions
would make you think twice.

At trifles too, she was a real dab hand
But sometimes her mince
Could be extremely bland

Oh Allan you are so naughty
But carry on it's all so sporty
I like a good laugh at cobbler and Nell
What an hilarious story you tell
Bet you and Jem could right a book
Of which I'm sure we'll all get hooked

Alas, Alack,
My writing is slack.
Jem has definitely set us a task
But in glory I can't bask.
Although my tale is certainly proceeding
I'm finding it difficult to continue the feeling.
The words seem to stick,
Which makes me feel sick
And I'm constantly gazing at the ceiling.

Well try a new line
I'm sure you'll be fine
Perhaps our old cobbler needs a rest
As Nell we know could try the best
So Allen try a new tact
Then you'll get back on the right track :-D

I had nothing to do one afternoon, so I decided to tackle a quiz
But what could I write on the E-LESS Thread had got me in a tizz.

Now a novelty song occurred to me, which might be fun to do
But how could I leave out all the Es, when there was Ernie, and Ted and Sue?

So Ernie became Urny and Sue became Mau, and Ted became Big Bad Bob
And before very long, a brand new song, did satisfy the job!
