yep, it's very easy to understand how soemone unused to copperplate handwriting could make the simple mistake.


I wonder if this is why no-one has found John Cadd before his marriage in 1740?! ;-)

may well be, that the name was also altered, as there are so many different ways to spell a name, plus on top of that some people including registrars can make mistakes, for example on my birth certificate, my mothers maiden name is MORDEN, but the correct spelling is MORTON.... ;-) ;-)
