I'm not happy with these though, as I still think William was born at Ibstock.

william thompson b abt 1826 ibstock leicestershire

also his marriage to a mary in 1851 ashby se la zouch area

the only place to find his birth is from the parish registers.

The main place to find parish records on the internet is on the Mormon site ....www.familysearch.org. Otherwise, you have to find out where the parish registers are kept and go to that place.

You can search on the Mormon site yourself, as it is free.


Just go to the site, click on Advanced Search, scroll down to International Genealogical Index, and follow instructions.


Just be sure that any record you take is an EXTRACTED record . that means the information has been taken from the actual doceuments

A SUBMITTED record means just that .. it has been submitted by a member of the church, and such records are not to be trusted.

Sarah & Sylvia.

They're not on the IGI (Mormon site) as such. The nearest I got were the ones above.

If they have a batch no & dates they are extracted from the parish records. I just delete all the source message guff.

I was trying to get Sarah to do some of the checking that she can do for free.

so it looks like having to go the records office then to find more on them

what about their marriage that you found in 1844 that would be about right as their first child was born in 1846
