Hi My Tree is causing real headaches. I have found my great gran as ELIZABETH HOOLEY married to JOSEPH WINGFIELD but her mum and dad are a mystery I see JAMES HOOLEY listed as a surgeon as her father but no mother . the same with Josephs parentage . is anyone searching or can shed some light . kind regards Tracy

Had hoped to see them in 1841 or later, to get an idea of where and when Elizabeth [ Hooley ] was born - though presumably Liverpool area from marriage details - but can't see them in any censuses. [ EDIT: sorry - her baptism already posted ]

Their daughter Phillis, born 1840 Liverpool, is only apparent on censuses after her marriage in 1857 to Benjamin Huskisson / Hoskinson. No sign of her in 1841 or 1851, as far as I can see.
I wonder if Elizabeth and Phillis went to sea with Joseph, and perhaps weren't in the country on census dates?

Just for interest -

Phillis and Benjamin are Huskisson in 1861 & 1871, but in 1881 are calling themselves Wingfield.
In 1887 Phillis remarried, to a waterman named Richard Curzon, and in 1891 is with her three youngest Huskisson children, named Wingfield on the image, though wrongly transcribed on Ancestry as Curzon. Richard's not listed with them.

I'm not posting the records, as Tracy presumably has them, and her query is only about Elizabeth and Joseph's ancestors.

As the 1841 census says Elizabeth was born in Lancashire, and she married in Toxteth, I feel it's very unlikely that she would have been christened in London.
