Thanks Mavis, for what you have found, it all adds to the overall picture.

Anne remembers visiting them at 3 Chapel Park Road. Dorothy was 70 when she died, whereas it says he was 53!. It must have been an awful shock for the priest whose housekeeper she was - she was a former nun too.

Thanks, Choccy.

Does anyone have any views on the post I added to this thread on the previous page, about the three Harrington families and the similarities in their trees? Avery, draper, and daughters Dorothy and Kathleen?

I did look at Kellys 1938 Directory for Sussex in particular Hastings. only found 1 Harrington in Hastings------ Mrs A Harrington 18 Stone Street . in the 1939 index
its Mary Harrington born 16 Sep. 1864 Wd. so no closer to finding Agnes

Thanks for looking Mavis - this lady is driving me mad.

In July 1939 they were living in Church Road, but that house was empty at the time the register was taken. They were not at the house in Chapel Park Road then either.

I just hope I'm still compus mentis when the 1921 census comes on line, to find out where Agnes Mary was born, in the hope that that will help me track her down. I'll be looking for her before I even look for my own family.
