Hi
Yes I have seen Eliza Pinney on page 4

What I meant maybe Eliza Pinney death 1909, would be stated in one of the Luton Papers
As Arthur Pinney is mentioned giving his Death date 1915 also his age and where he was living
Thankyou
Olive

As far as I remember, I don't think printing the newspaper articles is possible in any case.
And there doesn't seem to be anything in the papers about Eliza's death.

If you want someone else to look up any articles for you, see this kind offer from MistyCat:

When the current situation changes, contact the relevant local paper and ask if they have an archivist

The full record isn't available on Ancestry, unless you also have an extra sub to Fold3.

This is all that's on Ancestry:

Alfred Dear
in the UK, Royal Air Force Airmen Records, 1918-1940
View Original Image on Fold3.
Name: Alfred Dear
Gender: Male
Age: 39
Birth Date: 1877
Service Date: 12 Jul 1916
Service Number: 145457
Spouse: Maud Hester Dear
Next of Kin: Maud Hester Dear
Relation to Airman: Wife

The sample page shown beside the record on Ancestry isn't part of Alfred's record. It's just a generic page to show what an army record page could look like.

Image of RAF records shows that Alfred was initially in the Army - the Bedfordshire Regiment - having joined 12.7.1916 for the duration of the War. He transferred to the Royal Flying Corps 9.1.1918 and then into the newly formed RAF

RAF came into being 1 April 1918 when RFC and the RNAS (Royal Naval Air Service) amalgamated and the RAF became a separate military service with it's own ministry alongside the RN and Army.

He was married in Luton.

NOK was his wife Maud Hester Dear of 6 Bailey ---- Cot. Luton

Transferred to RAF Reserve 8.2.19 and deemed discharged 30.4.20

There's a list of where he was posted - but all in RAF "speak" so no help there !

Awarded 14 days detention in July 1918 by Officer Commanding 6th Wing for helping himself to public goods i.e. cutlery

The detailed RAF record for Alfred , which Greyghost and Alviegal posted, isn't on Ancestry (apart from the one I posted, which also needed a Fold3 sub) - which is why you couldn't find it.

mgnv Report 16 May 2020 17:53

The RAF was founded on 1 April 1918 by merging the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service.

If a member of the army transferred to the RFC (or later, the RAF), then their army service record went along with them to their new service (sim for the RN to the RNAS/RAF), and their entire service record is in with the RAF records.
If they continued in service long after WW1, then their records are treated like modern records, and need a special individual request for access.

Ancestry has what remains of the Army WW1 service records[*], as well as the Army pension records and medal card rolls.

I don't know who holds what records - try Ancestry's Card Catalog
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/catalog/?limitToCountry=0

or FMP's A-Z of recod sets
https://search.findmypast.co.uk/historical-records

[*] Canadian and ANZAC records are complete and held by them, but their transfers yo RAF are held by RAF, which is not negligible - over 25% of WW1 RAF were Canadians.
