Hello everyone! I am having no joy locating any information about the following relatives. If anyone would be so kind to help me, that would be wonderful and I thank you!
Elisha Medlicott b. 1863 in possibly Cheshire or Manchester UK
Cannot locate his marriage date (to Louisa Ridings) and if there were any more children other that my Grandmother Clarissa Medlicott.

Posting what I’ve found using the mother’s name…………….

Louisa Ridings married Elisha Medlicott in Heaton Norris on 1st January 1901

They had a daughter Clarissa who is with them on 1911and 1921 censuses, but NO child named Stanley.

Elisha was born in Shropshire…Louisa in Cheadle, Cheshire

Louisa was Elisha’s second wife, his first being Isabella Splaine, with whom me he had a number of children

Have you looked for Stanley’s birth on the GRO website, which includes MMN from the start?

Erika, thank you for all your infornative posts. I had indeed typed in Bailey instead of Medlicott in my original post. Clarissa Medlicott was married to Stanley Bailey, they were my Grandparents. I am trying to find out more information about Stanley Bailey’s parents and if there were any siblings.I will look into this further.

I have only been going by the clues that sometimes appear next to a member in your family tree. I am very new to this journey. I am in Australia, so not familiar with where to look in the UK for info. I think I will need to start looking for reaching out for Birth Certificates. My mother Winifred Bailey (not Winifred Clapham Ronladson Bailey) was born in 14/10/1933 in Manchester. She also had a sister Muriel born in 1927, I cannot find any further info on her other than the year she was born. She was estranged from her parents and my Mother and she was very rarely mentioned. Muriel did not move to Australia with her parents and my Mother, which I think was around 1954.

I am not familiar with GRO & MMN, but I will Google what they are.

Interestingly enough, Elisha and Louisa married 3 days before Clarissa was born. She was born 04/01/1901.

You definitely need Stanley's marriage cert......................the only way to try to identify - at least - his father.

It will cost £12.50 from the GRO

1939 was not a census, so birthplaces were not recorded...........he could have been born anywhere. His marrying and residing in Lancashire are not indicative of birthplace.
