Hello all, good to hear from you.
I don't know about the rest of the U.K, but here in Kent, we have had torrential rain all day today. Not surprising really is it, as it's a bank holiday weekend.

Sallie, thank goodness you have found the back door entrance onto this site. I have been using that way in for quite a while now, it's a lot easier.
Have a great time with Richard and Christie, on Sunday and Monday. I take it that you will be travelling on Sunday, that way hopefully the traffic wont be quite as bad.
Mind you, if this rain continues, people wont bother going out and about.
Have you seen your brother lately my love, only I am wondering how he is getting on now.

Do you have a bank holiday weekend in NZ this weekend?
Mind you, it's not like years ago, most of the shops stay open, so that people can take advantage of the extra shopping days, especially those who have to work all week.

Hello all

No don't go away until Wednesday. Had daughter and her OH here for just one night as they are on their way down to Hampshire from the Lake District. Nice to see them, they arrived yesterday evening, I had her favourite Shepherds pie in the oven waiting, then they went on after lunch today. good to have a catch up, it seemed ages since we saw them last.

Hope Jean is getting better, not seen her on here for a while.

Mo did you feel enthused enough to want to take up golf then? After watching them? :-D

No, I don't think I am enthusiastic enough about golf, for me to take it up Ann. Good grief, they seem to walk miles between holes.
Unfortunately for two friends of ours, they were playing a round the same day as we were at the wedding, and when they came to the green near where we were standing, they took their shots, and missed, oh did I feel for them afterwards, as most of us in the crowd knew them, and you should have heard the shouts when they missed the hole. lol poor Carl and Dave didn't know where to put their faces.
How nice that you saw your daughter just before your holiday. As you say, it's so nice to catch up on the gossip/news.

It's very quiet here at the moment, Roly has just fallen asleep in his armchair....I am awaiting the snores any minute now. lol
Lets hope that tomorrows weather is better than it has been today. I think the sun has forgotten how to shine over the last few days, so lucky you Ann, at least you will enjoy a bit of warmth when you get away.

Hello everyone, sorry I havent been on for some time, not been well and very down , still got a hoarse voice although the doc says it is clear, walking is hard and getting out of bed is very painful, so feeling very sorry for myself.... havent any patience to get some storage so craft stuff is still in boxes, but next week hopefully will get something..... glad to hear you are all mostly doing o.k. I managed to get some cards I made some time ago, at least I have a boxful , Jeff posted some for me, all far to early but at least they should get to their destination in time....a few family upset too so that doesnt help... cried a lot still do... starting as I write so will leave it for a while. but I will be back.... much love and many prayers....Jean xxx

Family upsets affect us so badly don't they, and leave us feeling so down in the dumps, whilst the family member is carrying on like nothing has happened. Forgive me, but thats how my daughter has made me feel, but that does not mean that your circumstances are the same my love.
I hope you start to feel a little better very very soon my love.

Sallie, where did you decide to go to today after all. I am really chuffed with myself, I have managed to clear a lot of the pots in the garden, ready for the dustmen tomorrow.
Next year I shall start anew, with fresh compost and plants, as the plants that were in the pots, had had there day, and were well past their best.
The only plants left in the garden now, are a few perrenials, and the roses, and yes it does look rather bare outside, but it's all ready for the winter now.

Just been freezing some of our glut of tomatoes. Made some into sauce and frozen the larger ones whole for stews later in the year. Our neighbour will be able to pick some while we are away as well as there are loads left on the plants.

T has cut back most of the shrubs that needed doing and cut the lawn so it is all tidy before we go.
We went into Cheltenham this morning to get euros, had a snack lunch today as we are going out to lunch tomorrow for our anniversary, just the two of us.

Jean, sorry that you are feeling poorly still, are you trying to walk as the doctor said? I know it is difficult because I have an ankle that is very painful at the moment, no idea why as I have done nothing to it, I have been wearing an ankle support today which seems to help. Should be good for all the walking we do in Tenerife, both of us limping as T's leg is still not right.

Mo, you have been busy in the garden, bet you are tired now.

We got home from Richard's fairly late last night, enjoyed our stay with them both.


Mo, Alun and Richard decided that as it was the Bank Holiday they didn't want to go very far, so we went to Windsor, but couldn't get into any of the car parks, which was a shame as we all love it there. In the end we ended up in Staines where we had a snack lunch......lots of people there but we managed to park quite easily, so that was a good start.
We'll probably go to Windsor the next time we go down to Richard's.



Jean, I'm sorry that you are still not feeling very well, hope that it won't be too long before you are feeling much better. Don't worry about sorting out your craft stuff at the moment, you have plenty of time to do that when you are feeling well again. Take care of yourself.

We've had a nice day, went to our favourite garden centre after lunch, bought a few things for the garden and also bought three Christmas pressies, I know it's a bit early but I thought it might be better to get them while they are still there.

This evening, we went out for a meal, it was very nice too and both Jennie and Michael joined us, so we had a lovely time.



Hope Ann and Tony had a good and safe journey to Tenerife.

Hello girls. I have been missing for a few days as my dial-up modem was fried by lightning, but I now have a new modem installed. Unfortunately a few of the web sites seem to be playing up, 'that page cant be displayed'. It took me ages to get on GR. I have to tackle FB again soon.

Hello friends, I have just bought a three wheelie trolly , the aim being to try and get me walking easier, so far it feels good,folds up flat so fits in the car, but I do feel more safer, and just need to get used to it ,so will go out to the park its flat I will tackle Snowdon at a later date ;-) ;-) ;-) now we are looking to have a short break late Sep or early Oct......cant believe we havent had a break this year :-( :-( :-( so may be a new car will be on our wants list :-D :-D :-D

cant wait to get making some cards, probably next week.....
